In the world of bel canto opera, the Italian tenor Giuseppe Filianoti is acknowledged as one of the finest and most beautiful voices of his generation. Equally talented as an actor, he has appeared on all the world's major opera stages, such as La Scala in Milan (Falstaff, Moïse et Pharaon, Rigoletto, Lucrezia Borgia, Gianni Schicchi, Un Giorno di Regno, Lucia di Lammermoor), the Teatro dell´Opera in Rome (Faust, Gianni Schicchi, Die Zauberflöte, Werther, Idomeneo), the Metropolitan Opera in New York (Lucia di Lammermoor, L'Elisir d'Amore), the Maggio Musicale in Florence (La Traviata, Don Giovanni), the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden (La Traviata, Dom Sébastien), and the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro (Tancredi, Le Siège de Corinthe).

He has sung with the world's foremost conductors, including Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Jesus Lopez Cobos, James Conlon, Myun-Whung Chung, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Daniel Oren and Richard Bonynge.

Among his most memorable performances are La Traviata at the Vienna Staatsoper, Teatro Real in Madrid, Liceu in Barcelona, Staatsoper in Zürich, and in Tokyo; Faust at the Deutche Oper Berlin and in Las Palmas; L'Elisir d'Amore in Barcelona, Toulouse and Vienna; Rigoletto in Barcelona and Lausanne; La Favorite in Las Palmas, Bologna and Genoa; Lucia di Lammermoor in Turin, Barcelona, Palermo and San Francisco; Don Giovanni in Cagliari and Toulouse; Capriccio (Flamand) in Cagliari; Verdi's Requiem at the Royal Albert Hall in London and in Turin; L'Arlesiana at Carnegie Hall in New York; Werther in Las Palmas, Genoa and Rome; La Rondine at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris; Idomeneo and Les Contes d'Hoffmann at the Hamburg State Opera; La Clemenza di Tito and Medea in Turin; The Rake's Progress and Mefistofele in Palermo; Don Carlo at Staatsoper in Zürich.

In 2004, Mr. Filianoti was awarded the Franco Abbiati Italian Critics' Prize as Best Singer of the Year.
